Catalyzing Change in High School Mathematics (NCTM) lists 41 essential concepts students should know when they graduate. Surprisingly, 40% of these concepts fall under the category of statistics. What are the mathematical standards, landmark strategies, big ideas, and models related to these essential concepts in the elementary grades? Come experience a public lesson that includes culturally relevant routines and equity-based practices that support student landscape of learning of data representation and data analysis (Fosnot).
